I’ve always struggled with making smoothies. I could never get the right texture to taste ratio. With just a few ingredients I found the right balance! This smoothie is not only creamy, it’s also delicious. This is such an easy breakfast that’s healthy and only takes a few minutes to make.
Strawberry Banana Smoothie Ingredients
If you’re anything like me, my PCOS gives me killer cravings. I’m also an emotional eater so I’ve really struggled with finding a healthy comfort food. So how simple is is to actually make this smoothie? Just throw the ingredients in the blender with a little bit of ice and your choice of milk/dairy replacement. BOOM! It’s really that easy. This recipe is so yummy that I usually have to double my ingredients to share with my husband!
All you need is:
- 1/2 cup of Strawberries: These can be either fresh or frozen. I personally used fresh, but plan to try frozen with my next one to see if there’s a difference.
- 1 whole sliced Banana: This can also be fresh or frozen. I chose to slice it up to make it easier to blend.
- Approximately 1/2 cup of Milk: You’ll need cow’s milk or your choice of dairy free milk. I personally used Silk Vanilla Almond Milk. With PCOS Dairy can cause inflammation, and I’m trying to limit the intake of this. The amount you use will also depend on your desired consistency.
- 1tbsp of Honey: This is completely optional. I only added a little bit to add some sweetness. I like to use local organic honey to help with my allergies.
Once you prep all the ingredients, place them in the blender for about one minute. I personally added a few pieces of ice to give my smoothie a cooler taste.
